Srinakarin, 2014, 60x80cm (Oil on Linen)

This painting was conceived during a trip to Bangkok in 2014, a period marked by widespread anti-government protests and the "Bangkok Shutdown," a strategic blockade of the city's key intersections by political factions. Amidst this climate of civil disobedience, theSrinakarin Train Market (also known locally as Rot Fai Night Market Srinakarin) offered a different, more intimate reality. Here, I found a family selling dismembered mannequins, a young boy playing among the glossy, fractured forms. The scene became a quiet metaphor that has since shaped my work —an ongoing exploration of "skin" and "surfaces." Through oil paint, I investigate this boundary between the organic and the artificial, and the whole and the fractured.
