This work pays homage to Monet’s “Woman with a Parasol—Madame Monet and Her Son”. Using a variation imitation approach, it preserves the original work’s core familial emotion and, through washes and line, transforms a fleeting moment into a memory image that can endure. This is a “commemorative photograph” created to honor my mother.
