About this Artwork

This is one of the many series of swimmers that had been part of the developmental theme of expressing the freedom of swimmers by Hong Kong Artist - Phillip Hui. His later series of swimmers and divers had been widely exhibited and collected. This specific piece illustrates Philip’s expression early in his art career of using vibrant colours and to describe his observations of water, sea and swimmers. This painting shows how human beings often seek challenges in different areas (whether it is a sport or in business), and we often will have to slow down and take rest - take a breath and to continue one's journey and quest for excellence.
